The LAU start date for 2027 will be March 7th. There are no changes to the distances nor the disciplines. That means, as always, we accept participants on foot, with skis or fatbike. The possible races are 20, 50, 85, 185 and 500 km. Some rules got updated but nothing major. Even though costs keep increasing, I kept the entry fees at the same level we had in 2026.
The procedure to sign up online – something we tested for this year’s event – will remain the same. Once again, a big thank you to Pat Cooke-Rogers and everyone else who gave their input to create the online forms! If it were just me, we probably would still have to deal with paper copies for the next 10 years …

If you are new to the Lapland Arctic Ultra, I will arrange for a zoom meeting with you – to talk about the risks of the race, topics like gear and travel. Also, you can ask me any question you may have. Should you have no prior experience with being in a winter environment for extended periods of time, you will have to participate in the training course. The zoom meeting will help to establish that.
Once I have your online forms and we had our zoom meeting (if that was applicable), I will send you a down payment invoice of EUR 350 plus 6% VAT. This invoice needs to be paid within 2 weeks. When the invoice is paid, the entry is confirmed. The remaining entry fee will be invoiced late in 2026 or early 2027. If you prefer to split payments up further, that’s possible, too.
